Dealing with the Devil: Shadow, Desire, and Liberation in Practice
An intimate & vulnerable discussion with The Rebis : The Devil issue contributors about working with The Devil archetype in liberatory ways.
What does it mean to physically embody freedom in a world that so often demands conformity, obedience, and silence? This intimate roundtable discussion, moderated by Hannah Levy of The Rebis, brings together Christopher Marmelojo, Maria Minnis, and Rebecca “Bee” Scolnick for a conversation exploring shame, oppression, confrontation, and pleasure.
The Devil is a portal into radical honesty and embodiment, so our panelists will get real about how they're working with this archetype in their practices and lives. Topics will include kink, trans joy, living with chronic illness & disability, and the ongoing work of making art and living under authoritarianism.
All attendees will receive a complimentary copy of The Rebis: The Devil (a $28 value), featuring writing and art by contributors like Christopher, Maria, and Bee, as well as tarot practitioners like Meg Jones Wall, Laetitia Barbier, Stephanie Adams-Santos, Charlie Claire Burgess, Lex Hesperus, and many others!
Spirit Northwest 2025 Keynote Presentation:
Maria’s keynote will explore a deeper relationship with the cards. Individual tarot cards offer transcendent insights, but tarot is also about relationships. In this session, participants will explore the three-column grids of the Major Arcana to name and transform their sense of personal and community power in a world that suppresses individual expression, visibility of marginalized groups, and space to collaborate in building a more ideal future for all.
This is a learning session, be sure to bring a notebook!

From the Inside Out: Decolonizing Self-Love (In person & online)
How do we know we love ourselves when we contain multitudes? Whose language do we use to define our “enoughness”? What does writing our own stories look like in a world where people are increasingly divesting from colonial, oppressive perspectives of true love?
Explore these questions and more in this interactive workshop where Maria Minnis will guide us in interrogating our deeply ingrained patterns and beliefs around truly seeing and loving our inner selves. Participants will learn about and practice ways to address internalized biases, double-consciousness, and blocks around showing up more bravely and authentically. The workshop will also cover how to create self-care practices that disrupt mythical norms perpetuated by cultural imperialism and patriarchy.
The hybrid class will include a lecture, individual & group activities, discussion, and time for questions.
